The body of the beer stein is a smooth, black glazed, high quality stoneware decorated with a platinum wrap around design. A pewter medallion is situated at the center of the wrap around decoration featuring a relief of the Bismark. The body wrap features illustrations of the German Navy ships: Fregatte Deutschland, Radkorbette, Torpedoboot, Linienschiff, Leichter Kreuzer, Hilfskreuzer, Fregatte Friedrich Wilhelm, Minensuchboot, Panzerschiff Admiral Scheer, Schlachschiff Bismarck, U-Boot, Vorpostenboot, Zerstorer, Schnellboot S100, Zerstorer Molders, Tender, Schulschiff Gorth Fock, Fregatte Hamburg, Marineflieger (figher jet), SAR (search and rescue helicopter). Along with the illustrations of the ships is a chronological history of the German navy from 1656 to Present Day. The lid figurine features a German sailor holding the naval flag.
